Article I: Name
The name of this association shall be Twisting Yew.
Article II: Purposes
The mission of this Church shall be to provide a spiritual home for pagans to congregate in fellowship, to worship and receive rites of passage, to educate the public on Paganism, and to further the education of Pagans.
Article III: Membership
Section 1. Attaining Membership.
To be a member, a person must be 18 years in age, a Pagan, fill out and submit a membership application, and have the application approved.

3. Respect for the Law.
Article IV: Board of Directors
The Board of Directors shall be responsible for the general supervision of the affairs of the Church; to fix the hour and place of meetings; and to perform such other duties as are specified in these bylaws and by any special rules and policies adopted by The Board of Directors. The Board of Directors will be henceforth known as Wardens in this document.
Wardens shall consist of Spirit Warden,
a Gold Warden, a Scribe Warden and a minimum of one General Warden.
Section 2 Sub A: Responsibilities of Wardens
- The Spirit Warden shall be responsible for scheduling meetings and all Guardians of the Root matters.
- The Gold Warden shall be responsible for distribution and collection of all monies and donations.
- The Scribe Warden shall record all meetings, and be responsible for all documents not under the realm of the Gold Warden or Spirit Warden.
- General Warden(s) shall be the voice of the Non-Voting members of the Congregation.
- Wardens may amend Bylaws and the Articles of Incorporation by unanimous consensus.
Wardens shall serve for life, except in case of advancement to another position within the Church, resignation, or removal. Unanimous consensus of all currently voting Wardens shall be necessary to elect a candidate to fill a vacant position, and unanimous consensus of all currently serving Wardens, except the one subject to removal, shall be necessary to remove an Warden from his position. A Warden who resigns his office shall retain the title and rank of Warden and shall qualify for a non-voting membership in the Church, while one who is removed shall forfeit that title and rank and shall not so qualify. Wardens are the only voting members. The initial members shall consist of the four (4) founders and such other persons as may be chosen by them.
Wardens of the Organization shall not be held personally liable for any debt, liability or obligation of the Organization. To the fullest extent now or hereafter permitted by law, no Warden shall be personally liable to the Organization or its members for any monetary damages for breach of their fiduciary duties as an officer(s), so long as those Wardens do not breach their duty of loyalty, act in bad faith, intentionally violate the law, or derive improper personal benefits from the activities of the Organization.
Section 4: Wardens by unanimous consensus shall approve any subordinate churches henceforth known as Sapling Church.
Article 5: Meetings
Meetings of Twisting Yew shall take place in such place, time, and manner as the Spirit Warden shall from time to time provide. Twisting Yew may meet by conference call, electronic mail, or by any other means it may deem appropriate.
Article 6 : Dissolution
Upon dissolution of the Association, assets shall be distributed for one, or
more, exempt purposes within the meaning of section 501 (c) (3) of the
Internal Revenue Code, or the corresponding section of any future federal
tax code, or shall be distributed to the federal government, or to a state
or local government, for a public purpose. Any such assets not so
disposed of shall be disposed of by a court of competent jurisdiction of
the county in which the principal office of the Association is then located,
exclusively for such purposes or to such organization or organizations, as
said court shall determine, which are organized and operated exclusively
for such purposes.
Article 7 : Limitations
No substantial part of the activities of the Association shall be the carrying on of
propaganda, or otherwise attempting to influence legislation, and the Association shall
not participate in, or intervene in (including the publishing or distribution of statements)
any political campaign on behalf of or in opposition to any candidate for public office. Twisting Yew shall not engage in any political activity or political discussion that may cause controversy or division within the congregation.
Notwithstanding any other provision of these articles, the Association
shall not carry on any other activities not permitted to be carried on by
an organization exempt from federal income tax under section 501 (c) (3)
of the internal revenue code or the corresponding provision of any future
federal tax code; or by an Association, contributions to which are
deductible under section 170 (c) (2) of the internal revenue code or the
corresponding provision of any future federal tax code.
